The Guardians of Scotland Trust are delighted to confirm that the new floodlighting of Stirling Bridge will be officially switched on by actor James Cosmo during a ceremony on the north bank of the River Forth at Bridgehaugh on Friday 10th March at 6.45pm. (Times and Programme of events will be updated on 1st February). The ceremony will take place on the north bank of the river and will also be the launch of a public appeal to fund the proposed statue "Brothers in Arms".

Until now the site of one of Scotland's most important battles has been largely overlooked. The Trust believes it is time to put that right and also to tell the true story of the battle and give Andrew de Moray recognition alongside William Wallace as being co-commander of the Scottish army.

We are delighted to have had the generous support of FES who are supplying and installing the lighting free of charge. This alone will be of huge benefit both to the town as a tourist attraction and to increasing interest in the site itself. The main aim of the trust is to make the site a fitting memorial to all those who fell and to tell the story as accurately as we can.

After the ceremony, there will be a fund raising concert in Stirling Rugby Club featuring well known Scottish musicians. Already confirmed are Benny Gallagher (Gallagher & Lyle), Gordon Menzies (Gaberlunzie), Ian Bayne (Runrig), Atholl Fraser (The Raeburn Heights), and Ted Christopher and Bannockburn.
